This will be interesting...

I have two finished manuscripts in various stages of being edited. When I started out writing them I’d carefully plotted one and began the other with just with a rough plot. And that was fine, because I got to know the characters along the way and other plot developments came to me as I wrote.

One thing I knew with both stories though was how they were going to end. I like starting out with the ending swimming around in my head and I enjoy the journey to reach that final scene.

I have no ending in mind for my NaNo story. None whatsoever. Nada. I know how the story begins, have an opening scene in my head and then a basic outline. I’ve been getting to know my characters and making notes about them, but I have no idea how it’s going to end.

This will be interesting indeed.

Yeah, Nano is fun that way!

Welcome to the way I write everything!

Don't worry, as the plot develops, there can only be one logical way to get to the end - and then a twist will turn up or a faux resolution of some type, and you'll find a new way to finish it.

Lots of fun once you get to that part. Scary as hell in the mean time.

;c)

Good luck

It'll be an adventure, if anything.

Like BT said, it is the twists in the story, the ones that completely take you out of your comfort zone and into a sense of 'wow, I never thought of that,' that make the writing all worth while. I'm pulling for you.

Sometimes that can be the most exciting way to write! Unless you're me, of course. My endings are awful if I don't have them plotted out in detail in advance. Oh well, that's what revisions are for! Onward to Nano! :)

The twist which made The House Eaters work completely came out of left field. I don't want to blame my muse, but y'know. It'll play out like it should. No sweat.

Thanks, Jamie. Am hoping for some wicked twists.

KC, I know what you mean. The ending of the first draft of Kiss Butterfly is appalling.

Here's to some great inspiration next month, Aaron.
