Well, not always....only when I fall down them....well, half a flight, anyway. I’m not injured, only bruised, and hell, maybe I’ll slow down or actually look where I’m going in future. This happened two nights ago. The stairs I fell down were mine and the reason for the fall was my haste to get to the phone. It was funny later on, much later on, but not at the time. Incidentally, I missed the call.
Yesterday my Book Depository order arrived so that cheered me up somewhat. I’ve started a new pile on the floor as the bedside table can no longer accommodate the piles of “to be read” books and I obviously can’t read fast enough. Or is it that I’m just struggling to get through The Time Traveler’s Wife at the moment. Anyone else who has read it, what do you think of it?
Anyway, despite the injury and the delivery of new books, I managed to get another chapter of Kiss Butterfly edited, but no work done on short stories. The two I started working on—even though I’d vowed not to work on any—are flailing and therefore I’ve put them aside. They’ll keep. Meanwhile, NaNo is now just over two weeks away and I’m behind schedule. I’m not going to PANIC though, not at all. I’m going to have a great weekend and hopefully get some more editing done.
Reading wise, head over to Yellow Mama to read BT’s story, Dark Rose. An excellent, very dark read and well worth the trip over.

I hate falling down the stairs : P Hope your bumps and bruises don't last long!
The last time I fell down stairs I at least had the excuse of being drunk - that was a few years ago now.
Ouch! I once fell up the stairs. I seemed to fall and leap all at once - very weird. I think I was inventing some new Olympic event. Glad you're okay.
Ouch! Sorry to hear about the fall. Yeah, the drunk thing sort of takes the edge off. Next time either slow down...or stay drunk ;)
I think I was four the last time I fell down the stairs but I trip up them quite regularly. Hope your bruises heal quickly, and enjoy getting through your ever expanding book pile.
stairs are tricky things worthy of a horror story.
Yikes! Hope you're on the mend.
How far behind am I?
Thanks for the mention and I hope your bruises have now all disappeared.
Never a blemish should marr such a beautiful person.
I hope you're okay now! I've fallen down plenty of stairs in my life too, especially when trying to get to the phone. I hate phone calls more than stairs, though. :)
Cate, it should be an Olympic event, dammit. It would probably be the one sporting event I'd be any good at.
Thanks, Alan. I could do both :)
Thanks, Jamie.
Samantha, I've always been partial to the movie "The People Under the Stairs" - probably also why I don't like going into the cupboard under my stairs very often.
Thanks, Aaron, bruises starting to fade quite nicely.
BT, as long as you're still with us that's the main thing.
KC, I could talk on the phone all day long - part of the reason I'm always running behind.
