Monday

Because I spent most of yesterday editing, I allowed myself to make more notes on the new short story inspired by the coffin couch photo which I’ve titled Absinthe for the Soul. It rained pretty much all day so I had a pyjama day and edited from the comfort of my bed while the crows met up for some kind of social function outside my window.

I’m amazed at how quickly this story has come to me, including the ending, because most of the time I sit on a story for ages, waiting for the ending to come . And even more surprisingly—for me anyway—I’ve already got a bit of an idea brewing for 52 Stitches, opening on 31 October, so I think I’ll work on that today. I haven’t got a title for it yet, but it will come.

My guess is that they're plotting some sort of anti-scarecrow uprising. I'd stay away from corn fields for a while!

Shouldn't be a problem, Nat, I rarely leave the city :)

It was a good day, Cate. I love rain.

Sweet title - the one for 52 stitches should be a breeze after that!

You didn't happen to have an owl in the area, because crows hate owls (true, I don't know why). Good to know your story is going well and good luck with 52 stitches.

Awesome, awesome, perfect title! And working on a story from the comfort of pajamas-in-bed on a rainy day sounds like the pinnacle of wonderfulness.

Love love love the coffin couch. Cannot wait to see what you got out of it. Love when they come on fast like that.

And man, crows are annoying. Bird in general are freaky, but those things are loud.

Crows are nice and social. Good things come from a little bit o' brewing.

I'm glad you got your pj wearing rainy day writing in. I know how much you love that! ;) I hope you had tasty comfort food to munch on while you were at it:)

Thanks, BT.

Jamie, No owls lately.

KC, if only I could "work" from home everyday.

Thanks, Katey, and most of the time I like crows, but sometimes...let's just say I can understand why people use them for firing practice :)

Aaron - :)

Thanks, Jane. As always Cheezels and coffee were close by.
