Painting & The Death Blossoms

Yesterday the first coat of paint went onto the walls in my writing room. It’s amazing how changing from pale green to white can make a room look bigger. I can’t wait until it’s finished so I can get everything back into the room. Basically the whole upstairs is a shambles at the moment because pretty much everything was pulled out of the room and is now balancing haphazardly in piles (mostly in the bedroom). The final coat will be done this coming Sunday so everything will return to normal then. I hope.

I did manage to hack, I mean, edit my short story, The Death Blossoms, yesterday after I’d scrubbed residue paint from my arms and legs, and after slashing about 800 words (no doubt more will make a departure before the story is submitted) the story is a lot tighter. I tend to ramble on a bit and it’s sometimes hard to slice out words that I’ve so lovingly written, but I’m getting tougher. I’m going to give it another going over tonight though and see if I can't slash a few more words.

remodeling is always good. Good luck hacking, I mean revising. Have a good week.

I hate painting.

If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll already know that, but it can never be said enough - I hate painting.

And yet I went down to my cricket club on the weekend and helped paint the roof.

Maybe I just hate painting in my own house...

If somebody else sets up, pays for the paint, and cleans up, I don't mind painting. ;)

Remodelling is good fun, but I just want it all finished. I don't hate painting so much as find it monotonous.
